Ad Astral Podcast, Episode 14:

Heaven Scent- Shownotes

Submitted by DJ Burnham on Tuesday 1st November 2011

(Heaven Scent was written in June 2010 on the Island of Paros, Greece. This podcast is the first time it has been published.)

This story came about when I started thinking about how you can sometimes detect things like yesterday’s cooking smells in the kitchen, or walk into a room and smell someone’s perfume or aftershave long after they’ve left. It got me thinking about other airborn signals that effect us subconsciously, like pheromones for instance. Stories have been written about x-ray vision and other super-senses, so why not an ability to take the olfactory powers a step or two further? I got the name Vroma Miti from the Greek for smell and nose respectively. Heaven Scent was actually written on the Greek Island of Paros and I’d just like to extend special thanks to Wendy and Pat for the loan of their beach chair for me to sit and write on, and Denis & Patricia for looking after us at aquamarine in Alyki.

The original artwork for this story shows the Sky Ladder and the egg-shaped lift.

Strangely the pitch and sound settings for the Vocal Transformer effect to create the speach from the "Vocalator" made Sue sound a little like the comedy actress Miranda Hart

Anand is a multi-talented chap. An outstanding photographer, he has travelled widely through India, Nepal, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, capturing superb images along the way. He is also an experienced climber and trekker, having led several expeditions to Annapurna and the Himalaya.

See Anand's fabulous photography at Anandimages

Terry Clark: Has spent much of his time hiding behind trees and some say he's barking mad.

An early appearance in an Ibsen play as teenager marked the high point of his thespian career, after that it was all downhill...that is until Ad Astral revived his flagging fortunes

Laura Whiting loves long walks in the counry combined with a few wine o'clock stops en route! She is starting to get the running bug, and enjoys greatly spinning on her bike. The bike is stationary....and no wine is involved.
