Ad Astral Podcast, Episode 19:

Starglow - Shownotes

Submitted by DJ Burnham on Sunday 1st December 2012

(Starglow was written in September 2006 on Crete. This podcast is the first time it has been published)

Starglow is a dream realisation story for music fans, but also an exploration of the music business. Now seemed like a good time to release it even though it was written over six years ago. With the Mayan calendar World Cycle Age coming to a close on 21st December 2012 the prophecy is one of entering a New World Age and a new beginning (echoed in Emmelis starting afresh with the band). Cephalane is a made-up name for the planet on which Starglow is set to occur, coming from the Greek “Kefalikos” for head and here the power of the mind and taking control of destiny. 2012 is also a peak year for Northern Lights viewing due to the solar cycle creating a peak unequalled since 1958. Another element is the formation of the Rainbow Bridge through meditations on peace. It is called a "Rainbow Bridge" because it is understood as bridging the Aurora Borealis lights from the North Pole with the Aurora Australis lights of the South Pole, encircling the Earth as a "World Protection Belt." So, a planetary Starglow, as it were. Whatever you think about that we could certainly do with global harmony, now more than ever.

The original artwork shows Seiron and Emmelis with the Starglow event on Cephalane.

Andy Kerr loves everything Greek. He knew that playing the triangle in a school play would stand him in good stead for his kazoo exploits in the Ad Astral podcast. After the experience he now, however, considers that the Bouzouki my take a bit longer to master than originally anticipated. It's rumoured that Retsina may help the process so he's willing to give it a try until it starts working.
