Avithos Resort
We have experienced a wide variety of accommodation during our trips to Greece, from Hotels to Studios, but I have to say that we felt thoroughly spoilt by this gorgeous place, that ranks as one of the best that we have ever stayed at.
From the moment you arrive you cannot fail to be impressed by the beauty of the place.
Looking inland you see olive groves, cypress and the majestic Mount Ainos - how's that for a backdrop?
This is the garden in front of the patio area of our studio
Lawn and olive tree next to the patio - low level shot; we never expected to see such lush growth in Greece
The buildings are in traditional Kefalonián style and the resort is has been perfectly designed to give a feeling of space & tranquillity, along with the magnificently laid out (and superbly maintained) gardens. The resort has 64 rooms, but the beauty of the way in which it is organised means that it never feels crowded and it is a pleasure to sit out in the evening and listen to the cicadas
There is an excellent pool, with sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as a well-equipped pool bar by day and an undercover lounge bar by night; when the pool is magically illuminated
We had a standard studio for 2 weeks.
The bed was very comfortable, sheets and towels regularly changed, the room kept spotlessly clean. Facilities included twin electric hobs, a microwave, fridge, excellent range of cooking utensils, crockery and glassware, as well as a kettle. The room also had a flat-screen TV, a DVD player, and air conditioning; as well as ingenious windows. The bathroom had a good shower, WC, sink and hairdryer, plus a stunning range of shampoo, shower gel, body milk and soap.
Attention to detail, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, all in a perfect setting - what more could you want?
