Travelling to Kefaloniá
Kefaloniá is well connected, with six ports and an airport.
By Plane
You can, of course, fly straight to Kefaloniá on commercial airlines, and book your entire holiday with anyone of a number of travel agencies in your own country.
You can also fly to Kefaloniá from Athens and Zákynthos.
By Ferry
If you're planning on getting to Sámos by ferry from one of the other Greek islands, or elsewhere, it may be worth checking with the port authority (see below) - I believe that you can get to Kefaloniá from Ithaca, Zákynthos, Lefkas, Corfu, Brinisi, Bari and Ancona, as well from the mainland - Pátras, Kilíni.
(You can get the train from Athens to Pátras)

By Bus
There's a bus service from Athens (Kifissoú) that takes about 8 hours.
