Plants & Gardens

They are very keen on their plants in Kefalonia and have several garden centres which are worth exploring.

Argostoli

A lovely black and white pebble laid promenade, lined with palms, runs along the quay where local fisherman sell their catch

There is a fabulous fruit and vegetable market - also shown are some presses for sale

Some of the island's only surviving pre-earthquake houses are found here and this one was smothered in plants

 

Domáta, Kaligáta and Kourkomeláta

From our base in Avithos we took a little stroll up into these little villages one day, and it was well worth it.
